Armed Groups Expert

The Panel of Experts established pursuant to Security Council decision 1591 (2005) (“the Panel”) consists of 5 consultants with demonstrated substantive data, expertise and expertise in areas related to the implementation of the sanctions regime. The Panel’s mandate is established and will be renewed or terminated by the Security Council. The Panel acts underneath the course of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to decision 1591 (2005) in regards to the Sudan. The Expert will serve with the Panel reporting to the Committee and the Security Council. The Expert comes underneath the general steering and administration of the Security Council Subsidiary Organs Branch of the Security Council Affairs Division of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, particularly, of the Senior Secretary of the involved Security Council Committee, the Chief of the Branch and the Director of the Security Council Affairs Division. The work of the Panel is facilitated by a Coordinator who can also be an knowledgeable on the Panel.
