Loughborough University is inviting outstanding early career researchers to apply for the prestigious Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellowships. These highly competitive, 2-year Fellowships offer an exceptional opportunity for postdoctoral scholars who have recently completed their PhD to establish and lead their own independent research careers.
Up to 10 Fellowships are available, with salaries starting from £34,866 per annum, commensurate with experience. Successful candidates will have the chance to develop an ambitious research agenda, gain invaluable support from a Loughborough academic mentor, and access specialized training and advice tailored to enhance their skills as independent researchers.
During the Fellowship, Fellows are expected to apply for externally funded research fellowships, ensuring they are well-positioned to progress in their academic careers and make significant contributions to their fields.
To be eligible for these Fellowships, applicants must have completed their PhD (or equivalent doctoral qualification) between 2 December 2021 and 2 December 2024. This includes ensuring that any corrections following the viva examination are completed by the closing date for applications.
Loughborough University is committed to creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive academic environment. The University values the different perspectives, characteristics, and experiences that each member of the community brings. Applications are especially welcomed from individuals from diverse and minoritized backgrounds, as well as those who may wish to work part-time.
In light of the ongoing global unrest, the University will prioritize one Fellowship for an academic at immediate risk due to war or conflict.
This is a unique chance to build a future as a research leader. Join Loughborough University and contribute to making a positive difference in the world.
Apply now and be part of a thriving, supportive, and innovative research community!
The closing date for applications is 2 December 2024.
