Applications are open for the Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship Class of 2025. For greater than 35 years, the Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship has launched rising D.C. reporters to the town they’re assigned to cowl. In month-to-month classes, fellows study what it takes to cowl the White House, Supreme Court, Congress, Pentagon, Justice Department and different key authorities establishments.
NPF’s Kevin Johnson brings greater than 40 years of reporting expertise to his position facilitating this system and constructing the curriculum. Lawmakers, analysts and prime journalists within the enterprise lead discussions on coverage, politics and greatest practices in reporting designed to assist fellows thrive on their demanding beats. Equally essential: it’s an OPPORTUNITY to community with colleagues to develop personally and professionally.
All conferences will probably be in individual at NPF’s workplace in Dupont Circle or elsewhere in D.C. except developments require digital conferences. The orientation will probably be January 10, 2025, and the primary program session will probably be February 7. Meetings are usually 9 a.m.-5 p.m., on the primary Friday of the month, with the exception of July and August (summer season break). Attendance in any respect classes is obligatory.
Eligibility
- Open to journalists within the United States.
- Journalists from any medium and information group are invited to apply for the 2025 fellowship. Over the course of the 12 months, fellows take part in 10 days of intensive, forward-looking training within the capital.
Application
You Will Need:
- An announcement of intention, explaining your curiosity in this system.
- At least two latest samples of your work.
- A letter of help from an editor or supervisor recommending you to this system and acknowledging that they are going to excuse you from deadline duties on all program days. (If you’re a freelancer, a letter from an editor who has labored with you and is curious about publishing your work.)
- A short, narrative autobiography.
