Applications are now open for the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) Health Security Budget Advocacy Academy.
Application Deadline: March 18, 2024
For the purpose of strengthening civil society’s capacity for budget advocacy in the African region. The Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) is accepting applications from civil society organizations (CSOs) from all over Africa. With a focus on Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
The Prevent Epidemics program, a collaboration between GHAI and Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL), aims to build public demand. As well as political will for sustained and increasing mobilization of domestic resources for epidemic preparedness. Through its nation-led advocacy strategy, GHAI was able to unite media, civil society organizations, and policymakers in support of epidemic preparation as a national priority that requires sufficient and consistent funding.
Drawing from the lessons learned since 2018, GHAI developed the Budget Advocacy Toolkit for Epidemic Preparedness: Facilitator’s Guide a step-by-step course for facilitators to teach epidemic preparedness advocacy techniques to officials in government and civil society organization advocates. The Facilitator’s Guide was developed based on GHAI’s Budget Advocacy Toolkit for Epidemic Preparedness to illustrate the program’s advocacy approach and provide learning tools to bring Prevent Epidemics budget advocacy to scale in multiple countries through workshops and potentially online learning platforms.
