Applications are now open for the 2024 HiiL Justice Accelerator Programme. The acceleration programme is created for startups who have a product in the market that already gains traction, and want to grow as fast as possible. It brings together a cohort of startups from different countries in Africa and the Middle East for an intense 4-months programme that includes workshops, coaching, mentorship and grant funding. The programme is hybrid and is concluded with a Demo Day and recognition of the winners of the Innovating Justice Award.

Requirements
Startups from MENA, Kenya and Nigeria who have:
- People-centered solutions that prevent or resolve justice problems (read below under “Focus for 2024)
- A functioning product with some traction (number of users, revenue, etc.) indicating proof of customer demand. Startups in earlier stages are encouraged to contact their respective regional innovation hubs to find out about our ideation and incubation programmes.
- A strong team of founder(s).
- AÂ revenue model
- Ambition to scale beyond the immediate target market

- Platforms preventing fraud via KYC, identity management and fraud detection services (to improve access, to employment, finance and insurance)
- Legal marketplaces providing access to legal information, advice and representation
- Platforms providing basic financial services (payments, savings, wallets) for the un- and under-banked
- Platforms preventing GBV, theft and serious crime by providing information, guidance and security hardware
- Online dispute resolution platforms
- Building & tenancy management platforms
Selection Criteria
- The selection processes includes online interviews to be held in between 8 April – 16 May 2024.
- The programme kicks off on 30th May 2024.
