Generation of Environmental Leaders Program: Shaping North America’s Environmental Future(Fully-funded)
Are you passionate about making a difference in environmental sustainability? Do you have innovative ideas to support communities and preserve our shared natural resources? If so, the Generation of Environmental Leaders Program (GELP) is calling for your participation! Hosted by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, the 2024 GELP seeks to empower North American youth aged 18-35 to lead the way in shaping a sustainable future for our continent.
What is GELP?
The Generation of Environmental Leaders Program (GELP) is a platform for young leaders to showcase their innovative solutions for addressing environmental challenges across North America. From protecting our waters and lands to improving air quality, GELP aims to nurture and amplify the voices of young change-makers committed to environmental stewardship.
What We Offer
Participants in GELP have the opportunity to make a significant impact on their communities and beyond. Solutions submitted to the program will be evaluated based on criteria including:
- Impact and Community Engagement (40%)
- Feasibility (25%)
- Alignment with the CEC’s strategic pillars and the program theme (15%)
- Identification of problem/issue (10%)
- Innovation (10%)
How to Apply
If you’re between the ages of 18 and 35 and reside in Canada, Mexico, or the United States, you’re eligible to apply for GELP. We welcome applications from various groups, including youth-led organizations, NGOs, and youth innovators. To apply, demonstrate how your solution will have a meaningful impact on communities and contribute to long-term sustainability. Highlight how your proposal addresses critical environmental issues facing North American communities.
