The Wings to Fly initiative is designed to assist children who are academically gifted but in need (orphans or vulnerable adults), as determined by an evaluation of their results on the nationally administered Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.

An eligible candidate for the Wings to Fly Scholarship ought to be:
Academically Promising: student in their Sub-County who performed in the top 5 percentile for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
Adopted or coming from a vulnerable background (described below):
Children whose parents are physically or mentally unable to educate them and have no relatives, guardians, or sponsors to pay for their secondary education. This includes children who have lost one or both of their parents and lack a sponsor, relative, or guardian to pay for their secondary education. Proof in the form of death certificates, burial permits, or letters from your chief should be attached.
- Children whose parents cannot afford to send them to school due to HIV/AIDS or other chronic, disabling illnesses, and who have no family, guardian, or sponsor to pay for their secondary education should have their medical records checked.
- Children from families afflicted by political unrest, natural disasters including floods, droughts, and famines, who are unable to educate their children and lack a relative, guardian, or sponsor to pay for their secondary school
- Kids who have been neglected or abandoned and don’t have any family, guardian, or sponsor to pay for their secondary schooling
- Kids whose parents are extremely poor and who don’t have any family, guardians, or sponsors to pay for their secondary schooling
Procedure for Applications
The DMIS Wings to Fly Online Application is now available. Additionally, the physical forms have been sent out, arriving on Monday and Tuesday of the following week.

Instructions
Applicant should create a new account through the portal https://egfdmis.equitybank.co.ke/register_w2f and fill in the 2024 application form for consideration.
- Only 2023Â KCPE candidates are viable to make an application for this scholarship.
- The information provided in this form is intended to help Equity Group Foundation Community Scholarship Selection Board (CSSB) understand the applicant’s academic and financial position for the purpose of assessment for scholarship/award.
- All fields with asterisk (*) are mandatory fields and must be filled accordingly.
- This application form must be filled accurately, honestly and completely. Equity Group Foundation will reject any applications without relevant documents.
- Please review the following documents and if required have soft/scanned copies for ease of completing the online application form:
- KCPE Results Slip (official KNEC slip or signed & stamped paper from the school). For early bird applications, you will be allowed to complete the application form without KCPE marks and Result Slip until submission.
- Copy of Death Certificate (if father/mother deceased).
- Evidence of financial support (if they have received support in the past).
- Evidence of special needs (if they have indicated special needs).
- Copy of Pay Slip/ Bank Statement (if parents/guardians are employed/business).
- Signed declaration by Applicant and Parent/Guardian
- Filled application and recommendation form by Head Teacher, Provincial Adm., Religious Leader and any other.
- The completion and submission of this form is not a guarantee for sponsorship.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
- Any false statements, omissions or forged documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
