A request for proposals to support business and vocational education has been announced by the Gered Gereedschap.
Programs and initiatives for vocational training that meet the needs of the local labor market are ideally supported by the Gered Gereedschap. We particularly appreciate educational institutions and initiatives that stimulate youth entrepreneurship and provide ongoing assistance following their training. Additionally, projects that focus on gender equality, marginalized groups, cooperatives, ecological awareness, and environmental protection are given preference.
For the past 40 years, a Dutch NGO called Gered Gereedschap has been continuously working to support women and craftspeople in developing nations. Gered Gereedschap projects bolster business and technical vocational education in Africa. The assistance is all-encompassing, concrete, and useful. Everything from school toolkits and equipment to fully functional sewing rooms and the training of technical vocational educators. The goal of all the assistance is to advance technical skill as the cornerstone of independence.
Under the moniker EQUIP, Gered Gereedschap’s programs promote craftsmanship in all its forms, including entrepreneurship, employment, and education.
SUMMARY
The focus nations are Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, and Uganda. Businesses based in these nations are eligible to apply for assistance.
Gered Gereedschap only funds initiatives where the intended audience takes the lead and participates actively in planning, making decisions, and carrying out the project.
In the event that Gered Gereedschap provides workshops, machinery, or tools as support, free material transportation to the closest international port is offered. Overland transportation to a capital can also be established for landlocked nations.
The applicant organization bears the cost of transportation to the ultimate destination and customs clearance. When it comes to insurance, clearing, storage, and/or local transit expenses, Gered Gereedschap neither provides nor mediates.
Gered Gereedschap does not offer household appliances, farm equipment, or financial support.
If a rental shop or multipurpose workshop is provided, the applicant organization is in charge of running the business. Gered Gereedschap and the recipient party will enter into a written agreement outlining the rights and responsibilities regarding use, support, and reporting.
