The Global Citizen Prize: Cisco Youth Leadership Award was instituted by Global Citizen in collaboration with Cisco to honour and elevate a young individual making a positive difference in the world, showcase the influence that youth play in accomplishing the United Nations Global Goals, and expedite the resolution of global issues.

The Cisco Youth Leadership Award, part of the Global Citizen Prize, recognises a person between the ages of 18 and 30 who has made a significant contribution to the fight against extreme poverty. A US$250,000 prize is part of the award, and it will be given to the organisation that the recipient donates to.
Requirements
Impact
- A track record of measurable progress towards one or more of the Global Goals over the last three to five years, measured at scale.
PURPOSE
- A compelling vision and well-thought-out strategies for carrying out this work over the next three to five years, including how the prize would boost initiatives.
MECHANIST
- Encourages other youth to contribute to the accomplishment of one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals.
WORLDWIDE CITIZENSHIP
- Exhibits the virtues and embraces the spirit of a global problem solver and global citizen.
THEATRE INNOVATION
- Demonstrates innovation in the use of technology or Internet-based communications to increase impact, reach, and efficiency.
