The Community Solutions Programme (CSP) is a one-year professional leadership development programme designed for seasoned community leaders who want to better their communities by tackling issues pertaining to women and gender, peace and conflict resolution, democracy and human rights, and the environment. A four-month practical U.S. practicum, individualised mentoring and training in leadership via graduate-level leadership curriculum, and a six-month follow-up community project that fellows carry out in their home nation are all included in the CSP.

Eligibility

  • In order to qualify for the Community Solutions Programme, candidates need to fulfil the following prerequisites. Applications that do not comply with these eligibility standards will be rejected and the selection committee will not evaluate them.
  • As of January 1, 2024, you are between the ages of 26 and 39.
  • You are a national of one of the qualifying nations mentioned below.
  • You are employed and reside in your nation of origin.
  • When working for their home community, people with refugee status may be granted particular attention.
  • You have worked in community development for at least two years, either as a volunteer or as a full-time or part-time job.
  • At this time, you are not engaged in any training, research, or academic initiatives in the United States.
  • At the time of application, you possess a high degree of spoken and written English competence.
  • Semifinalists must take and pass the TOEFL or IELTS English language exam, or provide recent results.
  • From August through December of 2024, you have four months to visit the United States.
  • You have not filed for permanent residence in the United States in the last three years and are neither a citizen nor a permanent resident of the country.
  • A J-1 visa to the United States is available to you.
  • Candidates who have taken part in a government-sponsored exchange programme are required to have completed their two-year home residency requirement.
  • You pledge that following programme completion, you will spend at least two years back in your own country.
  • You do not currently work for or consult for IREX, nor do you have any direct family members.

  • Europe: North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, and Ukraine; Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta; Moldova, Montenegro;
  • Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Arab Emirates, West Bank/Palestinian Territories, Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Tunisia
