A full-time software engineering scholarship programme called Groundbreaker Talents was created to give Ugandan students from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to realise their full potential and have access to a better future in the digital age.

The young people of Uganda have a lot of potential to build the next wave of IT developers. Through our scholarship programme, underprivileged students are guided to vital entrance points in the sector, acting as a talent pipeline. Providing people with useful skills contributes to a better future.
objective
- Research demonstrates how comprehensive training programs—which combine technical instruction with the development of “soft skills” and assistance with job placement—affect individuals from developing nations’ professional advancement, income levels, and job security.
- Addressing juvenile unemployment from the supply side represents a viable approach to enhance the well-being of adolescents from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Benefits
- It will cost 6,800 euros for one full scholarship. The cost is determined by the state of affairs in Uganda right now.
- In order to guarantee the successful completion of the one-year course and facilitate the transfer into the workforce, we not only guarantee access to top-notch IT training but also complete provision of a suitable learning environment.
Eligibility
- Be a young African woman, between the ages of 18 and 25.
- Have a strong interest in tech.
- Financial limitations preventing access to educational possibilities.
- Available from January 2024 to December 2024, full-time, to live and learn at the Groundbreaker Talents house for the duration of the programme.
- Completed and earned a high school diploma (S.6). (Have your result slip, certificate, transcript, or picture with you).
- Possess proof of residency in Uganda or in the refugee communities there (such as a passport, national ID, village ID, or refugee certificate from your home country).
- Quite proficient in both written and spoken English.
- The applicant cannot be enrolled or on break from a university or other educational institution where they are seeking a bachelor’s degree or diploma.
NOTE: A prospective applicant will only be qualified for the scholarship if they completely fulfil EVERY criteria listed above. Every piece of information will be handled with complete discretion. Make sure before submitting the form that you have all necessary documents ready!
