The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton project, introduced in 2019, is the first programme of its kind in the sector given by Access Bank’s W Initiative. The program’s goal is to give female-owned businesses in Africa access to capital, top-notch business training, and mentoring opportunities in order to expand their operations. Agriculture and Finance Consultants (AFC) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) are partners in the five (5) month competition.

Over 100 female entrepreneurs in Ghana have earned more than 1.2 million cedis in grants, insurance, and mini-MBAs through IFC since the program’s launch. More businesswomen have a chance to win a portion of the GHS 300,000.00 cash prize and cost-free business consulting services this year than in previous years. Agriculture and Finance Consultants (AFC) and The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) will compete against each other over the course of five (5) months.
Eligibility
- Between 18 and 45 years old, and who:
- Are Ghanaian citizens.
- Possess and run an agribusiness or agro-related company.
- Possess at least 50% of the company’s stock.
- A business must be registered and have been operating for at least (1) one year.
Businesses in the underlisted industries may submit an application:
- Aggregate of agricultural output
- Service Agri-Tech Provision
- Agricultural Input Supply
- Grass/Cereal Processing
- Processing of Fruit
- Rearing Livestock/Poultry: Natural Ingredients Processing
- Processing of Roots & Tuber
- processing and packing of food
- Fisheries and Aquaculture
- Services for agricultural extension and advice
- Transportation and logistics for agriculture
- Development and research in agriculture
- Equipment & machinery for agriculture
- Farmers who are the main producers
- Restaurants
- Agrochemicals: producing or selling products like fertiliser, insecticides, etc.
Rewards
- GHS 100,000 will be awarded as the top prize.
- Second place: GHS 100,000
- Third Place: GHS 100,000
- GH10,000 for fourth place.
- GH10,000 for fifth place.
- GHS 10,000 is awarded as the sixth place reward.
- GHS20,000 is the MD’s Special Award.
Non-Monetary Reward
- Prize for Website Design Promotion without Money
- All top 50 finalists will receive three months of free business consulting services.
- The boot camp created in collaboration with AFC and GIZ will be attended by the final 50 applicants for five weeks.
- The boot camp will use teaching, practical, and virtual training techniques.
- Women and graduating businesses will compete and present their ventures by incorporating what they have learned.
- A 4-week online course will follow a 1-week in-person training session in the Business Management Bootcamp.
Application Methodology
- Stage 1:
- Fill out the application form online.
Correctly enter your contact and business information.
Give your company a brief description in the form and attach any necessary paperwork for business registration.
Upload your one-minute pitch video (in 60 seconds, describe your company. Using a video camera or a phone, produce a 60-second audio-clear video about your company. The maximum file size for the video is 150 MB.
Finish the registration process.
Candidates who have been shortlisted will be called for on-site visits to their places of business. - Stage 2:
- The top 50 candidates will participate in the GIZ/AFC Business Management Bootcamp (BMB).
Stage 3: - Following the training, a jury will hear pitches from all 50 finalists.
