Job Synopsis/Overview:
- The three main tenets of the IRC—Service, Integrity, and Accountability—serve as its compass. The Humanitarian Accountability Partnership’s (HAP) and Core Humanitarian Standards’ (CHS) tenets also serve as a guide for the organization.IRC Nigeria has a Community Accountability Feedback Mechanism in place to guarantee adherence to these principles in all of its initiatives. Gathering community feedback via a toll-free phone system is one of the mechanisms. Therefore, the IRC is hoping to fill this position with an experienced employee.
- In general, the goal of the client responsiveness assistance is to gather complaints and input on the services that IRC provides from the communities it serves using the several Accountability Feedback Mechanisms. In particular, the role holder will collaborate closely with the program team to facilitate information flow between the organization and the community and vice versa. In accordance with the organization’s feedback mechanism information flow system, s/he will gather community feedback via the toll-free system and other feedback mechanisms, forward it to the appropriate sector team, and, depending on the category level of the feedback, get back to the person who initially reported the complaint.
Principal Accountabilities:
A. Gather community input and communicate findings to the relevant authority
- Respond to tool-free calls, log complaints and feedback using the template or templates created specifically for that purpose;
- Make sure the privacy of any information you receive is maintained and protected.
- keep oneself informed about IRC projects on a regular basis to comprehend the operational themes and geographic areas;
- Recognize and briefly explain IRC Nigeria Community Accountability Mechanisms to workers and other stakeholders.
- periodically familiarize oneself with the most recent IRC policies and procedures, especially those pertaining to accountability;
- Knowledge of the Core Humanitarian Standards, the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP), and other pertinent international standards.
- Respond to inquiries for information or provide answers if it is under the purview of her or his duties as outlined in the IRC Nigeria Community Accountability Mechanism document;
- summarize the data and submit a report, in accordance with the Community Accountability Mechanism document, to the relevant body;
- When necessary and with permission from her/his supervisor, provide pertinent data that can be incorporated into the designs of new projects;
- Clarify any queries submitted to the Complaint/Feedback Analysis Committee as needed;
- outstanding interpersonal abilities and expertise drafting reports.
- Perform a preliminary analysis and disseminate the findings to the relevant sector personnel in accordance with the Community Accountability Mechanism;
- Attend workshops, bazaars, and gatherings where lessons are shared; and
- Maintain a safe and organized record of the reports;
B. Overseeing the hotline’s operations and maintaining additional accountability mechanisms
- Ensure that the monthly subscription is paid on schedule to maintain the system’s uptime;
- Ensure that the phone equipment is maintained and that the batteries are consistently fully charged;
- promptly notify her/his supervisor of any technical issues and monitor its upkeep;
- Create a plan and periodically verify if the hotline service and other feedback mechanisms are available to all the target communities;
- Taking care of suggestion boxes that are set up to gather feedback.
- creating and putting into practice strategies for telling all project stakeholders about the Accountability Mechanisms in an efficient manner
C. Complete additional tasks as delegated by the supervisor (—-% of time)

Requirements
- a least diploma in communication studies or related fields of study;
- An advantage is having prior experience with similar fields, developmental work, and communication;
- Need to be able to keep people’s and information private.
- outstanding computer abilities, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- knowledgeable about email correspondence, particularly with Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong oral communication abilities in the Hausa, Fulfulde, and Kanuri languages, as well as a working understanding of English, are essential;
- devoted to the IRC’s ideals and beliefs, as well as the organization’s grievance reporting procedure; and
- devoted to helping others
- Education: A minimum of a diploma in communication or a comparable discipline in any sector or subsector
- Work Experience: It is preferred to have at least a year’s worth of experience managing a complaint response process.

- strong oral communication abilities in the regional languages and a working grasp of Fulfulde, Kanuri, Hausa, and English;

- Language Proficiency: Written and spoken English, Hausa, and Kanuri are a MUST.
