The Explorers Club Discovery Expeditions grants are in line with The Club’s mission to advance scientific knowledge for the benefit of people and all life on Earth and beyond. This includes their dedication to reducing climate change, preventing the extinction of species and cultures, and ensuring the wellbeing of their lands, oceans, and everything that calls them home.
Which expeditions are supported?
- Fieldwork in the following fields will be taken into consideration: biology, archaeology, anthropology, palaeontology, earth sciences, ecology, and astronomy.
- Additionally, exploratory projects that reveal new information about the planet and its inhabitants, including regions going through significant environmental or cultural change, will be taken into consideration.
- Despite the possibility of lab components, funds will cover the costs of projects that are primarily focused on fieldwork.
- Although fieldwork might be challenging and exciting, projects that are solely concerned with extreme sports or physical prowess will not be accepted by the programme.
Financial Details
- The typical grant amount is between $25,000 and $40,000.
eligibility requirements
- Researchers and explorers from all over the world are supported by the Explorers Club Expedition grants, which also give them a platform to share their discoveries without interference with the right to own the study.
- At least 18 years of age is required for applicants.
- The potential of the proposed initiative to inform and educate a worldwide audience through motivational storytelling will also be considered.
