The pillars of human dignity that depend on and reinforce one another are democracy, the rule of law, and human rights. One of the top priorities of Czech foreign policy is to promote and implement these ideas. To do this, the Czech Republic encourages the establishment of democracies throughout the world and gives concrete examples of how it has transformed society and built democracies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic’s Human Rights and Transition Promotion Policy Concept serves as the foundation for the request for local transformation projects.

The project’s goal is not to carry out development initiatives but rather to advance democracy and human rights in a particular region or for a particular population. A project may incorporate equipment purchases if doing so is necessary to accomplishing the project’s goals, but this cannot be the project’s primary goal.
