General obligations and responsibilities

1. Establishing a competitive, fair, and complete compensation and benefits package.

2. Creating a pay philosophy, including tools, that supports the overall People and Culture strategy as well as the work culture and fits and aligns with the World Bank’s business plan and goals.

3. Conducting annual evaluations of pay using scales and creating a plan for wage increases.

4. Taking part in, delving into, and going over HR consulting firms’ market compensation and benefits survey reports.

5. Assisting with the selection of survey HR consulting companies, such as by creating terms of reference or evaluating proposals.

6. Managing the client groups’ compensation portfolio.

7. Implementing efficient management and employee communication tactics and establishing success measures.

8. Developing communication materials and leading engagements on WB compensation for various stakeholders.

9. Carrying out research on new topics, trends, and best practices in pay and benefits.

10. Carrying out audits and evaluations of WB compensation, as well as producing reports.

11. Cooperating with other international financial institutions, development organizations, businesses, and consulting firms in the fields of human resources and remuneration, among others.

Selection Standards

  1. A master’s degree in human resources, business, economics, finance, statistics, strategy, and/or policy development, or an equivalent designation or certification, or applicable experience.
  2. A minimum of 8–10 years of experience working in the fields of international benefits and/or compensation, strategy and/or policy development, finance, or industries closely related to finance. familiarity with the various rewards and incentives available.
  3. Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attentiveness and attention to detail, capacity to prioritize projects and organize workload to complete work in a timely and effective manner.
  4. The ability to adapt to and operate in a collaborative context in order to accomplish organizational goals.
  5. Excellent English communication abilities, both written and spoken. ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the institution both vocally and in writing. the capacity to organize meetings and mediate contentious discussions.
  6. The capacity to work sensitively in multicultural contexts and forge strong professional relationships with customers and coworkers. high level of adaptability to various situations, backgrounds, and cultures.
  7. The ability to analyze critically and solve problems. the capacity to independently conduct research and pinpoint issues. a track record of successfully gathering, analyzing, reporting, and presenting data.
  8. The capacity to act independently and without following set procedures.
  9. Upholding the highest standards of moral integrity, treating everyone equally and with respect, upholding absolute confidentiality, and using tact and diplomacy while handling delicate, intricate, and private information.
  10. Ability to operate effectively in a fast changing internal and external context. Ability to drive the design of appropriate compensation schemes to meet evolving World Bank demands (conceptually, behaviorally, and in terms of execution skills).
  11. Expertise in using additional software tools for analysis and implementation in compensation and benefits, as well as complete familiarity with the MS Office Suite.
