The Data-Enabled Climate Shock Absorbance & Ecosystem Resilience through Agroforestry (Agrof4resilience) Project is looking for applications from interested parties, according to the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE).

This request is for researchers from universities, research centres, and governmental organisations to gather a sizable dataset on agroforestry systems (AFSs) and offer instructions for the general public on how to access and use it.

In order to optimise the AFS, identify species, and value carbon sequestration, these datasets will next be used in mathematical and machine learning modelling.

Size and Duration of Grants

Each partner will get funding of up to US$ 30,000 for a maximum of one year.

eligibility requirements

  • Scientists employed by legally accredited Kenyan universities, research institutions, or businesses (private sector companies) are eligible to apply.
  • All those who are qualified to practise the physical, natural, and engineering sciences, medicine, business, social, or other related areas are included under the term “scientist” in call.
  • A scientist is also recognised as a “project partner” in a collaborative effort, together with the organisation they represent.
  • The scientist(s) should exhibit expertise pertinent to the task.

Conditions

  • The applicant acknowledges that the icipe’s decision on the proposal is final by submitting it.
  • that under no circumstances will applicants be given access to the names of TC, which will be kept private. However, the applicant will receive feedback based on the reviewer’s comments.
  • that in the event of financing uncertainty, the call deadlines and schedules of funds being dispersed to chosen project ideas may be changed without prior notification.
