Delivering revolutionary information and technology to its workforce operating in more than 150 places allows the WBG to pursue its purpose of eradicating extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner.
Our goal is to use information and technology to fundamentally alter how the Bank Group fulfills its mission. The development and execution of the ITS strategy is a continuous, iterative process of learning and adaptation created through wide engagements with corporate partners across the World Bank Group in this fast-paced, constantly-changing world.
Three high-level business outcomes are achieved by ITS by adjusting its strategy in response to shifting business priorities and utilizing new technologies: business enablement, which involves giving Bank Group units cutting-edge digital tools and technologies to transform how they provide value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, which involves making sure that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and effective to speed up the delivery of development solutions.
Three fundamental concepts serve as the framework for the strategy’s execution. Delivering creative, disruptive, and customer-centric solutions to business partners comes first. The second goal is to offer the Bank Group standard and judicious technological solutions that are cost-effective. The third concept is to excel at the fundamentals by giving the organization a high-performing, reliable, and resilient IT environment.
Position Summary:
- The ITS Unified Communications (ITSCU) division of ITSGC houses this post. The AV/VC Project Manager manages projects for audio visual (AV) and video conferencing (VC) systems in conference rooms, institutional event spaces, and other relevant conferencing facilities as needed. They also provide full project management, documentation, coordination, and follow-up on such projects. This position is headquartered in Paris, France, and will oversee the project delivery of AV/VC equipment for sophisticated, broadcast-quality, and multimedia-enabled conference rooms in the Paris country office.
Important job duties:
- Create project management structure solutions based on needs analysis that are compliant with Bank standards and industry best practices.
- Project management structure should be coordinated with the Video Services Engineering and Product Manager and include, but not be limited to, project charter, timelines, tasks, and list of equipment and materials
- Coordinate needs, interfaces, and processes for the Bank with the ITS team, Global Corporate Solutions (GCS), and contracted technical service provider.
- To ensure the quality and timeliness of ITSCU-technology projects in accordance with industry best practices, develop and monitor project execution plans.
- Examine vendor contracts and bids, taking into account aspects including cost, value, and conformity to the project’s objectives.
- By choosing and managing vendors, you can make sure that project deadlines and quality requirements are met.
- Gather and document business needs for AV/VC video conferencing solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Convert business requirements into technical requirements and project plans.
- Make sure the project is in line with the goals and objectives of the organization.
- Closely collaborate with technical teams and designers to build and improve AV/VC system designs.
- Make sure the suggested solutions satisfy both the business and technical needs.
- oversee the design’s execution, taking care of any problems or alterations linked to the design.
- Show off your knowledge of Zoom Video, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco technologies. Keep abreast of the most recent advancements in these platforms and suggest improvements to improve project results.
- Manage the preparation and approval of purchase orders (POs), as well as the procurement process.
- Maintain cost management and conformity to financial regulations by keeping an eye on project budgets and spending.
- Arrange for the supply and installation of AV/VC systems and equipment.
- Make sure all deliveries are made on schedule and are up to par.
- Verify the AV and VC systems’ performance and quality. To ensure peak performance, do testing and quality control inspections.
- Keep lines of communication open and clear with all parties involved in the project, including team members, executives, and vendors. Provide regular project updates and respond quickly to any problems or challenges.
- Determine and reduce project risks. Create backup strategies for unforeseen difficulties that might occur during the process.
- Lead project team meetings as necessary and inform management, end users, and the technical team of project concerns and progress
- Coordinate meetings and team communications with clients in several time zones and across a variety of backgrounds
- Organize the asset management of the machinery bought for projects and, when needed, update departmental inventories.
Selection Standards
- A master’s degree and five years of relevant experience are required for this position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in information management, computer science, engineering, or a related subject.
- completed or undergoing the PMP certification procedure
- Experience in generating project management documentation and procedures for technology and/or construction projects for at least three (3) years is required for this role.
- advanced understanding of and competence in using common project management techniques for technology projects in corporate settings.
- basic understanding of project management and audiovisual system design.
- having a basic understanding of how to set up, configure, and troubleshoot audiovisual conferencing equipment
- knowledge of user assistance and meeting room upkeep
