After passing their trade test, candidates can get a trade certificate through the Apprenticeship Programme, which gives them access to classroom and on-the-job training that will help them gain knowledge and expertise in their chosen trade. The cost of training, personal protective equipment, payment for institutional training, on-site personal insurance, as well as a monthly stipend, are all included in the apprenticeship. Opportunities are available throughout all of our operations in Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark.

Eligibility

  • A minimum of a Grade 12 diploma in science, maths and English
  • It would be advantageous to have knowledge of relevant trade theory and another technical area relating to commerce.
  • A cooperative individual with independent thinking
  • Dedicated and very self-motivated
  • A flexible mind with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent detail-orientedness and engineering aptitude
  • After passing a trade test, a permanent job is not always guaranteed.

Among the available trades are:

  • Turner and Fitter for Instruments
  • Electrician, Millwright, Boilermaker, Mechanical Fitter, and Welder

duties and obligations:

  • Adhere to the requirements of the apprenticeship and finish it successfully.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by abiding by all laws, regulations, and policies relating to health, safety, and the environment.
  • Obtain technical trade competencies
  • Respect the terms of the training contract
