After passing their trade test, candidates can get a trade certificate through the Apprenticeship Programme, which gives them access to classroom and on-the-job training that will help them gain knowledge and expertise in their chosen trade. The cost of training, personal protective equipment, payment for institutional training, on-site personal insurance, as well as a monthly stipend, are all included in the apprenticeship. Opportunities are available throughout all of our operations in Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark.
Eligibility
- A minimum of a Grade 12 diploma in science, maths and English
- It would be advantageous to have knowledge of relevant trade theory and another technical area relating to commerce.
- A cooperative individual with independent thinking
- Dedicated and very self-motivated
- A flexible mind with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent detail-orientedness and engineering aptitude
- After passing a trade test, a permanent job is not always guaranteed.
Among the available trades are:
- Turner and Fitter for Instruments
- Electrician, Millwright, Boilermaker, Mechanical Fitter, and Welder
duties and obligations:
- Adhere to the requirements of the apprenticeship and finish it successfully.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by abiding by all laws, regulations, and policies relating to health, safety, and the environment.
- Obtain technical trade competencies
- Respect the terms of the training contract
