The UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board (YAB) application period is now open, and UN-Habitat is thrilled to announce it.
The Youth Advisory Board is a consultative group that offers UN-Habitat insightful opinions and suggestions regarding plans for sustainable urban development. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB), which was established in 2008, has been instrumental in mainstreaming youth viewpoints and encouraging youth involvement in UN-Habitat’s key events and programmes.
The YAB is now recruiting passionate and committed young people to join its ranks for its most recent term. Every one of UN-Habitat’s six regions will be represented on the board, and equal gender representation will be a priority.
The Balikesir Metropolitan Municipality (Türkiye), which will be the site of World Habitat Day in 2022, is a co-host of the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board.
This is your chance to actively help shape urban development’s future and make sure that young people’s perspectives are heard and respected. We encourage you to apply to join the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board if you are passionate about sustainable urbanisation and driven to make a difference.
Eligibility
Please confirm that you satisfy the requirements for candidature:
- Age range of 18 to 32 years
- English language proficiency comprehension of the objectives of the youth advisory board
- Have a current passport
- Have access to communication equipment and a reliable internet connection and make a commitment to attending at least four annual meetings, whether they are online or in person.
- Make a commitment to discussing the problem of sustainable urbanisation with the young and youth networks in your area.
Application
- To apply, please fill out the application form, make sure it adheres to the YAB’s Terms of Reference, and include a motivational statement that lists the youth-focused activities you have done as well as a brief biography and CV. All information will be kept private and never disclosed.
