A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE POSITION’S FUNCTIONS
The Education Programme Specialist will be accountable for the following tasks and duties under the overall direction of the Director of IIEP and the Technical Cooperation Team Lead, the direct supervision of the Cluster Lead, Equity and Resilience, and the Technical Cooperation Team Lead, and within the context of the Institute’s Medium-Term Strategy:
- Create technical cooperation initiatives and programs, enhancing MoEs’ capacities for environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation:
- Make thorough proposals for projects or programs.
- Make sure these projects or programs are connected to IIEP’s MTS and other ongoing or upcoming operations.
- Participate in negotiations and discussions with partners on a national and international level.
- Coordinate and carry out technical cooperation initiatives, particularly in the field of crisis-sensitive planning, with the help of internal and external partners and the Equity and Resilience Cluster Lead.
- Project implementation should be planned.
- Prepare for and complete missions and activities for technical collaboration.
- Organize and lead specialized training sessions.
- Advice and direction should be provided to technical employees in Member States.
- Provide project/programme team members, including consultants, with technical direction and support.
- communicate and plan with regional, national, and international partners.
- Assist the Lead of the Equity and Resilience Cluster in monitoring and reporting IIEP’s efforts, particularly in crisis-sensitive planning
- Tracking results, maintaining pertinent databases, and creating reports are all part of monitoring the execution of projects that are crisis-sensitive.
- Create monitoring and assessment reports for planning initiatives that are crisis-sensitive.
- Take part in analysis and knowledge creation, especially with regard to the crisis-sensitive planning work done by IIEP:
- Through literature reviews and missions, aid in the creation of knowledge products in the field of crisis-sensitive planning and planning.
- Consider the lessons you’ve learned and your outlook for the future, especially as it relates to crisis-sensitive planning, and create documents to support your thoughts.
- Engage in educational initiatives, especially in the field of crisis-sensitive planning:
- Create new training programs and take part in their review, especially IIEP’s online learning course on resilience, safety, and social cohesion.
- Participate in the creation of course materials, thorough programs and activities, and effective evaluation techniques and tools.
- Participate in the delivery of these courses in a residential or online setting.
- Participate in the Advanced Training Programme as well as the standard residential and online training programs offered by IIEP.
- Represent IIEP at events where the Institute has been invited.
- Carry out any additional tasks that may be necessary to ensure the Institute’s and the team’s success.

Education
- Master’s degree or higher from an advanced university in the social sciences, economics, international development, or educational planning and administration with a background in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience, preferably two (2) years of which were gained at an international level, in the area of crisis-sensitive planning for technical cooperation projects in education.
Competencies
- strong familiarity with issues relating to educational planning and management, particularly in the context of developing and/or emerging countries.
- Strong knowledge of current trends in global education as well as efficient methods for enhancing educational planning and management, especially in crisis-affected environments.
- the capacity to plan, coordinate, and carry out development projects.
- a track record of success and expertise in the analysis of both qualitative and quantitative educational data.
- demonstrated expertise in advising high-level audiences (Member States, foreign partners) on issues pertaining to education’s role in crisis prevention and crisis mitigation.

Language
