Students from Ghana have a rare opportunity to pursue a fully paid Master’s in marine science thanks to the OCPP Ghana Scholarships, which are funded by the UK’s Blue Planet Fund.

The OCPP Scholarships Ghana are designed to support world-class research in this field and are aimed towards early- to mid-career researchers from Ghana who want to pursue careers in marine science.

The scholarships, sponsored by the University of Cape Coast, will give Ghanaian students the chance to make use of their local expertise, carry out important research, and contribute to the creation of solutions to issues relating to the marine environment.

The scholarships are designed to encourage scholarly work that will advance solutions to environmental problems affecting the maritime environment as well as the conservation and sustainable management of marine resources. The scholarships will also have a positive and noticeable effect on coastal populations’ livelihoods, which depend on robust marine ecosystems.

eligibility

  • Candidates for the Master’s degree must be Ghanaian nationals.
  • For consideration, candidates must have submitted an application for admission to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
  • You should be employed in or have a strong background in the fields of environment, fisheries, and aquaculture science.
  • should possess a bachelor’s or higher degree.
  • should suggest a study topic that is fresh, relevant, and likely to have an influence that can be clearly seen beyond the academic world.
  • Candidates must be eligible to enrol in postgraduate coursework at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.

Financial Details

  • The recipients of scholarships will be masters students. Each successful applicant is qualified for:
  • Fees for attendance (including general and medical fees)
  • A living stipend
  • Grant for research support
  • (On a case-by-case basis) Dependent, disability, and maternity expenses
  • Educational programmes
  • Masters
  • MPhil Blue Economy, Governance, and Social Resilience MPhil Integrated Coastal Zone

Application

  • For consideration, candidates must have submitted an application for admission to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
  • Then, in order to be considered, applications for the OCPP scholarships must be submitted using the online application form on the ACU website. To create an ACU account, click “Get Started” in the top right corner of the application login page if you don’t already have one.
