A highly interactive approach is used by YLPA in workshops as well as a variety of public and community venues. Youth and adult participants will have a greater understanding of civic participation, citizen rights and duties, and the role social enterprises play in a community through participation in the events. The host family will be an American family, and participants will have the chance to interact with and learn from them throughout the programme. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State is responsible for completely funding this programme.
A rigorous training schedule, including highly academic workshops, project planning, team-building exercises, and cultural outings, makes up the programme. Participants are obliged to finish a post-program service project in their neighbourhood after completing the U.S.-based programme. Participants should plan on spending 8 to 12 hours each day in programming sessions.
