The Walters Kundert Fellowship provides awards of £10,000 per year to assist physical geography fieldwork in Arctic and/or high mountain regions, with a priority for fieldwork that contributes to our understanding of past and contemporary environmental change.

The Walters Kundert Fellowship was started in 2017 and is funded by a kind gift from the Walters Kundert Charitable Trust. The Fellowship was established to encourage candidates from all areas of geographical inquiry to advance knowledge and welfare of the planet’s Arctic and high mountain habitats. Through the RGS-IBG Postgraduate Research Awards, the Walters Kundert Charitable Trust also provides funding for postgraduate grants.
Eligibility
Post-PhD researchers employed outside of the UK who are linked with a UK university or research institution are also eligible to apply, as are Fellows and members of the Society.
