The 100 Day Programme for Global Insurance Accelerator 2024 gives participants access to seed money, networking opportunities with mentors, 100 days of ongoing assistance, and a final presentation to a large group of insurance carriers, investors, and industry experts.
Early-stage businesses developing products that aid the insurance sector are accepted by the Global Insurance Accelerator. In addition to providing seed money and networking opportunities with their mentors, they also offer 100 days of ongoing assistance and a final presentation to a sizable gathering of insurance industry professionals.

Not your usual accelerator, this one. Investors in the Global Insurance Accelerator are insurance companies, and their mentors are mostly insurance experts. In order to identify product-market fit and conduct consumer research faster than you could possibly accomplish on your own, joining their programme is a very strategic choice. They serve as a strategic ally.

Every year, from the middle of January to the end of April, Global Insurance Accelerator offers a single 100-day programme to coincide with the Global Insurance Symposium in Des Moines, Iowa. Why is Des Moines, Iowa, the location of the accelerator? With the biggest concentration of insurance jobs among American metros, it is a significant centre for insurance.

Benefits

Investment

  • A $50,000 equity-based investment from the GIA Fund, supported by insurance industry investors, will become 5% of the business through a post-money SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity). The investment terms and sum will be the same for each chosen company. Before accepting a November interview with the selection committee, all candidates will get the final key investment terms. Terms cannot be altered.

Mentorship

  • The mentor programme at the GIA is their secret weapon, and they take delight in it. It has been demonstrated that the mentoring and connections they will receive from the leaders in the insurance sector are among the single most crucial factors in the success of their portfolio companies.
  • Almost every activity and session that mentors offer to their founders involves their participation. Mentors volunteer to lead or co-lead workshops and panels, step in to help founders craft their pitch presentations, and closely collaborate with each founder on their unique business requirements.

Phases of the 100-Day Programme

  • The hybrid programme will be delivered virtually for 9 weeks and in-person for a total of 5.5 weeks in Des Moines, Iowa (required). During the 5.5 weeks in Des Moines, housing expenses will be covered. While staying in Des Moines for the duration of the programme is a choice for each founder, housing costs will not be covered during the virtual 9-week period. They thoughtfully divide the almost 15-week accelerator programme into three phases to support your startup’s growth throughout that time.
  • January 10 – January 26, 2024 in Des Moines
  • Virtually: 29 January – 29 March 2024
  • April 1 through April 19 in 2024 in Des Moines
  • Time commitments for each Phase as estimated
  • Phase 1: For the first 3.5 weeks, work full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Phase 2: 6–8 hours per week with scheduled mentor sessions.
  • Phase 3: 6–8 hours per week with scheduled mentor sessions.
