The “Pillar two: Agricultural Education and Innovation” is the area in which CAG focuses. This Call for Grant Applications (CAG) will take into account proposals that enhance the capacity of farmers, farming communities, young people, and/or women, and facilitate access to the resources, education, and assistance they require to continuously improve their practises, foster resilience, boost their profitability, and contribute to a world with adequate access to food.
Areas of Concern
- Applicants may only submit one application for consideration under this focal pillar, and they must make sure it covers the following topics:
- Describe the issue, demand, or challenge related to this pillar that this project aims to address.
- Show that there is a good chance the initiative will succeed.
- Showcase the project’s main tasks that will be accomplished. Activities can include, but are not limited to, offering farmers and other stakeholders technical assistance, hands-on training, online instruction, agricultural-related career training, farmer field schools, and on-farm demonstrations to assist them in thriving, transitioning from subsistence agriculture to market-oriented production, changing the food system, conserving natural resources by fighting climate change, and more.
- Clearly show how the initiative is in line with SDG 4 of the United Nations, which is to “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
- Showcase the need for, and strategy for, creating and promoting programmes for business skills training in agribusiness and value chains for farmers, particularly young farmers, women, and other disadvantaged populations.
- Show how the creation of an educational initiative can increase knowledge awareness about how food systems and nutrition are changing, or how farmers and other agricultural stakeholders can adopt new agricultural technologies and innovations.
