This includes, but is not limited to, all original projects undertaken by LGBTQI groups, organisations, or individual LGBTQI activists in support of LGBTQI Activism in at least one of the nations targeted by ISDAO. For instance, this could involve making a short documentary, editing a book or comic book, starting an online radio, making a photo project, etc.

ISDAO is a fund for LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex) individuals that is run by activists in West Africa. By using a flexible grant-making strategy and creating a philanthropic culture dedicated to equality and social justice, it seeks to strengthen and support a West African movement for sexual and gender diversity.

ISDAO represents the following principles
