Deadline: the 21st of September 2023 | Research Internship at Mitacs Globalink 2024 (Fully Funded for Canada)
Talented researchers are drawn to Canada by the fiercely competitive Globalink Research Internship program. Every year, from May to October, interns from specific Mitacs partner nations and areas travel to Canada for a total of 12 weeks to work on research projects at Canadian universities. The goal of the Globalink Research Internship is to create contact between Canada and young, talented researchers abroad.

Interns in research at Globalink receive:
- a project paired with a Canadian university and professor based on their shared research interests, qualifications, and experience
- Cost of round-trip airline tickets to Canada (varies according on country of origin)
- transportation to and from a Canadian airport for lodging
- Housing stipend, with a range of amounts based on the country of origin
- health protection
- stipend for the maximum of $300 in enrollment fees for students
- stipend for food and miscellaneous expenses; amount varies per country of origin
- assistance from student mentors on Canadian campuses

Eligibility
Students that are interested in a Globalink Research Internship must:
- age of majority is 18 years old.
- be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program or a program that combines an undergraduate and master’s degree at a school that qualifies in one of the eligible nations or regions. Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, and the United States are the official partner nations and regions. Note: American applicants must submit their applications directly to Fulbright Canada through the Fulbright website.
- as of Fall 2024, have one to three semesters left in their program.
- Obtain grades that are sufficient for your country of study:
- Updated GPA specifications by nation will be available in June 2023.
- be able to complete a 12-week internship, with arrival in Canada taking place between May 1 and July 31, 2024, and departure from Canada taking place between July 31 and October 31, 2024.
- posses a passport that is valid through January 2025 at the latest (more on passports below)
- Students applying must provide the following information in their application:
- a certified transcript, in either English or French, from the home university. Before the application deadline, you must submit a translated and notarized copy of your transcript if you are unable to receive an English or French version.
- a minimum of one letter of recommendation from a professor or research director
- a resume showcasing experience in research
- Apply to no fewer than three projects and no more than seven of them, and make sure the projects chosen come from at least three distinct Canadian provinces.
