The SoCreative Africa learning programme for aspiring and early-stage young African entrepreneurs is focused on entrepreneurship and presents a variety of free online courses for the future generation of African leaders to guide them through their business journey.
Upon completing the programme, participants will receive a certificate as evidence of their achievement. The certificate will make you eligible to apply for sustained support through mentoring, coaching, incubation and acceleration through our wider work in participating countries.
The programme is developed to support the British Council’s wider Creative Economy strand, designed to help develop an ecosystem in which young entrepreneurs can thrive.

Programme Modules Creative Entrepreneurship
Basic Understanding the Creative Economy (Including what sectors compose the Creative Economy, the economic, social and cultural worth of the Creative Industries) utilizing relevant case studies and data to enhance understanding).

Intermediate
With the basic course as a recommended pre-requisite, the intermediate course will provide extra depth to basic courses and contains the following:

Course 2: Personal and Business Growth Strategies
Course 3: Protecting My Business - Course 4: Finance For Creative Business
- Course 5: Building and Leading Teams
Course 6: Raising Capital for My Business - Course 7: Promoting and Pitching My Business
Social Impact through Creative Entrepreneurship
Provide participants with an overview of impact entrepreneurship, social innovation and aspects to consider in pivoting firms to achieve social impact
- Topic 1: Introduction to ‘Impact Entrepreneurship’
- Topic 2: Introduction to Impact Economy – balancing profit with impact
- Topic 3: Understanding Social Innovation (including Human Centered Design)
- Topic 4: Things to think about when refocusing your business to make a social effect
- Topic 5: The Impact of Technology on 21st-Century Entrepreneurship
- Topic 6: Values and Ethics, Inclusion, and Sustainability
- Topic 7: Impact enterprises’ finance options and how to draw them
Policy for the Creative Economy
This intermediate course offers important knowledge for decision-makers regarding the creative economy.
