With the help of this scholarship program, you have the chance to pursue a postgraduate or ongoing music course of study in Germany. The grants also encourage networking among coworkers and the sharing of experiences.

Requirements
If you have earned your first university degree in music at the latest by the time you begin your scholarship-supported study program, you are eligible to apply. If this is not possible, you should at the very least have used up all of the training options for your instrument that are available in your country of origin.
Funded
You can finish this study program if you want to.
a Master’s degree, postgraduate degree, or supplemental course at a state German music institution of your choice that does not result in a final qualification and is not an undergraduate course.
Graduation program funding duration:
- Funding is available for master’s studies, concert test practice, and master class attendance.
- Start: Typically, the study program begins on October 1st of the following year, or sooner if a German language course is taken first.
- The scholarships are given out for the length of the chosen study program’s level of training (between 10 and 24 months).

The following extra advantages are possible for scholarship recipients in specific situations:
- Monthly rent assistance
- Allowance per month for accompanying family members. Please read Section F, Point 3 of our Important Information for Scholarship Applicants.
- In the event of a handicap or chronic sickness, financial assistance for supplemental expenses brought on by the condition that are not covered by other sources of financing additional information
- Support for environmentally friendly travel, often known as “green mobility top up,” or partial reimbursement of carbon offset payments for air travel
Selection standards
- The degree and level of creative development as determined by academic performance and work samples
- the project’s quality as determined by the study plan and the motivation letter; this contains the following elements: application justification, project plausibility and viability, level of preparation for the international stay, integration of the stay into the artistic career, and relation to professional viewpoints
- application closing date
- At least once a year, application deadlines are revised. They are typically in the same time frame as last year. The current dates can be found here:
