The 2023 Water Changemaker Awards application period is now open. The Water Changemaker Awards 2023 is a global initiative that aims to recognize high-level leadership and commitment for climate resilient water investments and to highlight the most promising climate resilient innovations with the greatest potential for scale-up, replication, and additional investment to support a water-secure world.

Awards for water changemakers include:
Presidential Changemaker Award – for displaying commitment and leadership.
Awarded to the most promising climate technologies is the Innovation Changemaker Award.

Awards
The Water Changemakers Awards 2023 support the Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) 2020–2025 climate resilience strategy, which aims to assist more than 30 countries in gaining access to climate finance and influence investments of more than €1 billion for climate-resilient water management and infrastructure built on strong, inclusive, and efficient water governance systems.

Special Presidential Recognition Award for Global Leadership and Commitment at a Global Event
Investment, funding, and technical support of at least 100,000 euros should be made in order to accelerate the development of innovative business models and set them up for successful scaling up and replication. Innovation on climate financing for water security.
Eligibility
- Entities who have been in operation for at least a year and are looking to scale up a successful business model are eligible to apply for the Innovation Changemaker Award.
- An innovative project should focus on a water-related business strategy that has helped society become more resilient to climate change.
- Everyone who works for a business or nonprofit organization or individual is welcome to submit their creative changemaker initiative. To submit, candidates must either be a part of the effort outlined or have the support of those who are. You are welcome to submit more than one experience if you have more than one to share.
- Innovations can originate from any country or region. If they are not already a part of the GWP network, candidates are invited to sign up.
- At least a year must have passed since innovation began.
- Members of the Global Steering Committee or Global Technical Committee of the GWP, as well as employees of GWPO or any of the GWP Regional Secretariats, are not permitted to participate in the Water Changemaker Awards.
- It is possible to submit work in English, French, and Spanish. However, as they perform all of their work in English, they will translate non-English submissions into English using freely accessible internet translation tools.
Application
Candidates must include a contact in their nation who can confirm the existence of their organization or group when they submit their applications. Additionally, the application will have to present evidence of the project’s influence, audited financial accounts, team member biographies, an intellectual property license (if available), and the applicant’s company’s track record of prior business endeavors.
