The Mwalimu Nyerere Pan-African Young Leaders Fellowship program aspires to cultivate, mentor, train, challenge, engage, define, and transform the young generation of African leaders into responsible and committed true Pan-African leaders of the continent who will propagate the ideas of the late Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere, the Founding Father of The United Republic of Tanzania and one of Africa’s notable sons. The fellowship presents a special chance for 60 young African leaders to learn, develop, and work together with like-minded people from all backgrounds to address Africa’s challenges.

Every year in November, in conjunction with African Youth Month, this activity is held in Tanzania. By submitting this initial application, young people are urged to express their interest in the program ahead of the 2nd cohort’s November 2023 start date. The Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation (MNF), the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR), the Ministry of Information, Youth, Culture and Sports (Zanzibar), and the Africa-Asia Youth Foundation are all involved in organizing the program. The Tanzanian government is represented by the Prime Minister’s Office, Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities.
