A part-time stipend, training, and mentoring are provided to fellows in an effort to make their climate organizing work more viable. This Fellowship offers the chance to join a welcoming and varied peer-to-peer learning network. Although the majority of Fellows are focused on parent-led climate involvement, non-parent applicants who are interested in engaging people of all ages can also apply.

Benefits

Part-time stipends are given to fellows, and grants are in the range of $15,000 and $20,000 USD.
Peer-to-peer learning, regular training and discussion meetings, communications support, and some one-on-one mentorship will be available to fellows.

Eligibility

  • Open to individuals engaged in family-centered, intergenerational, and/or parent-led climate organizing. If you are already working in this field or have an idea for a brand-new project that would help spark climate action across generations, they strongly invite you to apply.
  • An inspiring organizer, activist, or leader who is already involved in creating new concepts or setting organizational strategy, is extremely collaborative, and does not have access to current funding sources would be the ideal candidate. They are interested in Fellows participating in a variety of climate engagement and movement strategies, including artistic (storytelling, film, blog, podcast, book, social media, etc.), educational (school campaigns), legal (legal strategies), programs encouraging sustainable behavior, grassroots/community organizing, corporate focused, and others.
  • Parents, grandparents, caregivers, and anyone else involved in intergenerational and family-friendly climate organizing are all encouraged to apply. For instance, while the majority of the prior Fellows were parents, several of them worked across generations to catalyze climate action, and they anticipate that the 2024 cohort will do the same.
  • All candidates are welcome to submit applications. They especially encourage applications from people of different origins and from the areas most adversely affected by environmental injustice on a social, economic, or social-political level. The Global South will be represented by at least half of the Fellows appointed. Additionally, they would urge applicants from the Global North who have a variety of histories, identities, and skills.
  • This Fellowship is a chance for individuals; applications from groups are not accepted. They strongly advise organizations to talk about, pick, and propose one individual per organization when multiple members of a single group or organization are interested in the Fellowship.

Selection Standards

Adherence to the parent/intergenerational movement’s prevailing climate
