The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program, introduced in 2019, is the first program of its kind in the sector given by Access Bank’s W Initiative. In its first year, the program gave 50 Nigerian women business owners a free mini-MBA certification and awarded scholarships totaling N9 million to the top 3 candidates. Together with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a member of the World Bank Group), it carried out this action. The program was then expanded to 10 additional African nations where Access Bank’s W project is present. Since then, the program has offered Mini-MBAs to over 300 female entrepreneurs throughout Africa. The program’s fifth season will premiere this year, and it aims to give 120 more Nigerian women entrepreneurs mini-MBA certifications and grants totaling more than N17 million naira.
