The Black Founder Startup Grant Program is accepting submissions through the SoGal Foundation. By awarding multiple financial scholarships to Black women or nonbinary entrepreneurs, SoGal Foundation has partnered with Winky Lux, bluemercury, twelveNYC, Twilio, and other sponsors to take a modest step in the right direction.
The fastest-growing group of entrepreneurs in history is comprised of black women founders. These founders have a history of giving back to their communities and generating wealth that can be passed down through generations, making them the perfect people to address some of the greatest unmet needs in the world.
In order to give them a better chance of growing the next big idea, awardees will also get tactical assistance navigating the larger fundraising market. Additionally, they will have lifetime “ask-me-anything” access to the SoGal Ventures and Foundation teams. They are aware that this is just a small beginning, but they believe it will expand. They have hope for a better future when institutional prejudice won’t prevent the next big idea from altering the world.

eligibility requirements
To be eligible, you must:
Have a legally registered business plan to seek investor financing in order to scale, either now or in the future, and self-identify as a Black woman or Black nonbinary entrepreneur (inclusive of multiracial Black women and multiracial Black nonbinary folks).
