Concerning the Organization
The United Nations Office on narcotics and Crime (UNODC) has worked to protect the world against narcotics, organized crime, corruption, and terrorism for the past 20 years. By addressing these concerns and advocating for peace and sustainable well-being as deterrents to them, we are dedicated to achieving health, security, and justice for all.
The complexity of these issues makes it frequently impossible for governments to address them on their own, hence UNODC provides helpful assistance and promotes transnational ways to action. Through our global programs and network of field offices, we carry out this activity in all parts of the world.
Regarding the Grant
In order to assist not-for-profit organizations working in the field of substance use prevention whose projects are focused on conducting research-based prevention activities for and with youth, the UNODC DAPC Grants Programme is releasing a Call for Proposals for 2023.
Thanks to the efforts and kind donations of the Drug Abuse Prevention Center (DAPC), a Japanese organization, UNODC is able to support drug use prevention and youth empowerment in several nations every year. The young people from DAPC organize neighborhoods and gather money, which they then provide to UNODC to assist youth-focused initiatives to reduce drug use in low- and middle-income nations. This initiative is genuinely from and for young people!
Every year since 2012, UNODC has given minor funds to youth organizations operating in low- and middle-income nations. By assisting them in starting and scaling up practical activities, and by connecting youth groups working in prevention, health promotion, and youth empowerment via Youth Initiative, the goal is to enable youth to take more active roles in promoting the health and welfare of their peers.
