Afrorama Oral History Competition 2023 | Deadline: 31 August 2023
We’re looking for the best and most captivating stories and facts that capture the essence of African heritage, tradition and culture, straight from those who lived it.
Whether it’s a story passed down through generations or a story from your community you are passionate about, we want to hear it all. You’ll have the chance to share your story with a community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for preserving and celebrating the rich history of Africa.

ELIGIBILITY
- Open to afro-optimists aged over 18 years old.
- Entries should be between 60 and 90 seconds long, and tell a unique story.
- Entries can be in your language (with a transcript in English or French) will have to be provided).
- Entries have to follow our submission guidelines.
SUBMISSIONS
- Step 1: Create a video of yourself telling a unique story or fact related to the African continent using our submission guidelines.
- Step 2: Submit your video through the dedicated form on afrorama’s website!
TIMELINE
- 25 May 2023: Competition opens
- 31 August 2023: Competition closes
- 29 September 2023: Winners announced
JUDGES
Entries will be reviewed by our judges, each representing a region of the continent.
