Deadline: the 25th of September 2023 | 5th “We Want Jazz” Poster Contest 2023 (Prizes of 10,000 PLN)
The fifth “We Want Jazz” Poster Competition 2023 is now accepting applications. The competition’s objectives are to popularize jazz through the involvement of the global community of graphic designers and to promote Polish and global jazz as genres of music where everyone can find something they enjoy. A poster with the topic “All that Jazz!” is requested from the artists.
Jazz has numerous hues and perspectives! Dixieland, mainstream, fusion, funk, ethnic, and dance jazz, as well as jazz performed by symphony orchestras, are all examples of jazz. Due to its impromptu nature and propensity for musical discussion amongst the performing artists, it sometimes assumes the quality of consonance and other times is heard as an uncontrollable musical din. They seek to portray jazz as improvisation-heavy open music built on the “call and response” principle—music that combines collaborative listening and creativity.
Prizes
- Polish zlotys five thousand.
- Second place: 3,000 PLN
- Third place: 2,000 PLNThe tax that is owed on the prizes will be deducted from the prizes’ gross value.
Eligibility
- Anyone is eligible to enter the contest.
- An author may submit up to three posters:
- 70 by 100 cm (vertically).
- TIF file type; CMYK color space; LZW compression
- 200 dpi for resolution

By September 25, 2023, prepared posters in electronic format should be emailed to the organizer at wewantjazz@radiojazz.fm via www.wetransfer.com.
