Eight female students from underrepresented areas who are enrolled in graduate programs with a STEM or technology focus are being sought after by the Information and Technology Solutions Internship Program (ITSIP).

Two applications will be chosen from Historically Black Colleges and colleges (HBCUs) and six from colleges outside of the United States as part of the World Bank Group’s partnership agreement with HBCUs. The program will run from September 15, 2023, through December 15, 2023, for around three months.

For highly motivated women, the Information & Technology Solutions Internship Program offers an introduction to the goals and activities of the World Bank Group. As part of the World Bank Group’s ongoing efforts to diversify our workforce, the internship program strives to provide fresh perspectives and create a pipeline of talent. Teams working in areas of information technology such as financial engineering, infrastructure, architecture, risk, and information security will benefit from the contributions of the interns.

The Information & Technology Solutions Internship Program will choose up to eight interns in 2023, including two women from historically black colleges and universities and six women from universities abroad.

Eligibility requirements

  • Candidates must be female students from underrepresented communities who are enrolled in a master’s program in information and technology, such as but not limited to Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Database Management, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Technology Management, Software and Application Development, Robotics, UX/Design, or a related field.

Benefits

  • The internship program is available on a full-time basis, thus those who are chosen must work 40 hours a week.
  • The internship will take place at the World Bank Group’s Washington, D.C., offices from September 15 to December 15, 2023, and it will last roughly three months.
  • During the program, interns are in charge of making their own accommodations.
  • For a total of 500 hours, the internship program will offer a competitive wage between US $23 and US $30/hour.
  • By the end of the internship, the student will have developed strong skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and project management within a diverse and international team, gained invaluable experience in their chosen IT sector, and gained a thorough understanding of the World Bank Group’s mission and work.
