The UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest 2023 is already accepting applications. Try to picture a future where everyone has access to food and water. What comes to mind? Submit your entry by taking a picture of or scanning your poster. A jury will choose three winners in each age group, who will be revealed in December. The winners will also receive a diploma and a surprise gift package, as well as promotion from FAO offices throughout the world.
Prizes
- The screening committee will choose 15 posters from each category (a total of 60 posters), and those chosen will be notified in December 2023. A certificate for this accomplishment will be given to the shortlisted individuals.
- A jury will choose three winning poster designs from each category to represent that category as finalists.
- On the World Food Day website, the best three poster designs across all categories will be revealed.
- Winners will be highlighted on the FAO social media channels and by regional FAO offices.
- A Certificate of Recognition and a surprise gift bag will also be given to the winners.
Eligibility
- Children and teens residing anywhere in the world between the ages of 5 and 19 are eligible to enter the contest.
- The age that must be stated on the entry form is the age that you are when you enter the contest.
- To take part in the Contest, minors must have their parents’ or guardians’ permission.
Requirements for entry
- Per person, only one entry may be submitted. Multiple entries from the same person will disqualify them.
- Poster entries may be painted, sketched, or drawn using oil, acrylic, or watercolor paint as well as mixed media, pens, pencils, crayons, or charcoal. Artwork produced digitally is also acceptable. No photos are permitted.
- Text may or may not be included in poster entries. Use of text is limited to no more than 25 words or 100 characters. Never mention private information such names, schools, ages, etc.
- The contestant’s logos, photographs, or other identifiable information are not permitted in any of the submitted artwork, which must be entirely unique.
- Everyone taking part is urged to read the World Food Day Activity Book to learn more about the day’s subject. Younger kids might prefer to study alongside a parent or teacher.
- Posters can only be entered via the provided entry form. After uploading the poster design, all fields on the contest entry form must be filled out, and then the ENTER button must be pressed. An adult may be required to assist younger children with their online submission.
- No physical posters should be sent in; only digital files saved as JPEGs will be accepted. Submissions must be made through the linked online form.
Application
The entry period will open on June 1, 2023, at 12:00 (CEST), and end on November 3, 2023, at 12:00 (CEST).
