The THRIVE Global Impact Challenge 2023 is now accepting applications. An international search for the most cutting-edge startups driving a more sustainable future for agriculture is being conducted as part of the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge.

The Global Impact Challenge is focused on four major issues, each of which is essential to assisting the transition to a net-zero future for agriculture and is in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Biodiversity & Soil Health: The Soil Health & Diversity focus area emphasizes the significance of protecting and fostering the diversity and health of our soil ecosystems. This focus area looks for creative approaches to support soil conservation, improved soil fertility, and sustainable agriculture practices. We can assure long-term food security, improve biodiversity, and lessen the effects of climate change by addressing soil health and diversity.
  • Increasing food security: The emphasis area’s goal is to address the urgent problem of sustainably feeding a growing world population. This field looks for answers to problems like effective resource use, climate-resilient agriculture, cutting-edge farming methods, and reducing food waste. We can reduce hunger, enhance livelihoods, and promote sustainable development on a global scale by improving food security.
  • Reducing and Offsetting Emissions: Reducing and Offsetting Emissions promotes creative ideas that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offset carbon footprints in order to address climate change. This field looks for technology and methods that aid in the shift to a low-carbon economy, such as carbon capture and storage, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable mobility. By reducing emissions, we can lessen the negative effects of climate change and build a more sustainable future.
  • Water management and quality: The important requirement for sustainable water management and the preservation of water resources is addressed by the Water Management and Quality focus area. It looks for ways to assure effective water use, improve the quality of the water, and enable universal access to clean water. This field includes methods and technologies for managing wastewater, conserving water, treating water, and monitoring water. We can maintain ecosystems, secure human health, and promote fair access to this priceless resource by putting emphasis on water management and quality.

Benefits

  • The THRIVE Global Impact Summit will host the finals, where the top contenders from each theme will present their ideas.
  • The winning business is given the THRIVE Global Impact Challenge Award and a spot in Silicon Valley’s prestigious THRIVE Global Accelerator Program. The winner will furthermore get an investment from SVG Ventures for up to $1 million USD.
  • THRIVE will offer a Silicon Valley Startup Bootcamp in March 2024 for two founders (worth $15k USD).
  • ICL Planet Startup Hub sponsors the Impact Strategy Program.

Eligibility

  • The applicants must be seed to series A stage startups or business owners. They warmly embrace novel approaches and remedies with the potential for development and expansion.
  • Worldwide applications are welcomed by them. All entrepreneurs and startups are encouraged to apply since they value different viewpoints and cross-cultural cooperation.
  • Candidates must show a strong alignment with one or more of the aforementioned focus areas. The issues within these categories should be specifically addressed by solutions, which should also give creative strategies for success.
  • Although it’s not required, they place a lot of weight on applicants who can show they’ve had a positive impact on the environment and climate. Displaying concrete results, data-driven findings, or the effective application of solutions that have favorably impacted sustainability, carbon reduction, biodiversity, or other environmental elements are some examples of ways to do this.
