Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award. A global photography award called the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) was created in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with the goal of promoting and advancing photography as a global art form.

The season’s overarching theme will be diversity.

Since the dawn of time, diversity has been on earth. One of the foundational principles of life that our ancestors learned and comprehended together with the wisdom that underlies it until it was imprinted in their intellect. Diversity might be there in front of you, whether it comes in the form of an idea that motivates you or a chance visual comparison.

Eligibility

Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to attend from any country in the world.
You are not permitted to enter any photos that have previously placed in HIPA or other contests.
The submitted photo(s) must be in JPEG format, have high quality and resolution, be at least 5 MB in size, have a minimum of 2000 pixels along its longest edge, be at least 300 dpi in quality, and be eligible for publishing.

The authenticity of the photo must not be harmed by editing.
Except for the portfolio category, where you must upload 5–10 pictures, you may submit up to one (1) photo in any pertinent category of the competition, including the subcategories under the General category.
You can enter photos taken with digital or analog cameras, but submission must be made digitally online, thus participants would need to scan their film photos before submitting them.

They only accept English, Arabic, or combined language photo descriptions.

Judging

They have a four-stage procedure for making judgments.

First stage: Receiving pictures are screened (filtered) to start the process. Judges review each photograph that has been submitted at this stage to ensure that it complies with all guidelines. (Photographs here are marked either as qualified or not qualified).
point 2: Once a photograph has been qualified, it advances to the first round of actual judging by a panel of judges. There are typically three panels of three judges each, and at this point, the judges assign each shot a score between 1 and 100. Each panel of judges oversees a particular category and renders judgments on particular images.
Stage 3: A certain percentage of the photos (which varies depending on the total number of photos) will advance to the third level of judging, when all the judges (often 9) will assign a new score between 1 and 100.

Stage 4: The HIPA team will also start the participant verification procedure within a specific time range. The outcome of this stage selects the winners in each category. This will involve asking for legal documents such sample release forms and ownership statements in addition to copies of identification cards and/or passports and validating all terms and conditions.
