The Global Youth Climate Action Fund (GYCAF) Microgrants 2023 are currently accepting applications. In order to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment, GYCAF envisions a society in which young people have the tools necessary to engage in green entrepreneurship and build a green economy.

The Global Youth Climate Action Fund (GYCAF) supports youth-led climate change initiatives in areas most affected by the effects of climate change. The concept for the fund was hatched during COP25 and evolved over a three-month period of consultation with the help of virtual conversations with finance experts to help create a vehicle that supports and encourages youth-led climate action.

- Oceans: safeguarding marine life and preventing catastrophic climate change.
- Youth empowerment through capacity building and business training.
- Protecting biodiversity and encouraging behavior change are two aspects of green stewardship.
- Innovation and technology have made strides toward resolving climate-related issues.
Grant
- Grants will be given to successful candidates in the range of USD $500 to USD $1,000, depending on the grantee application.
Eligibility
- Open to organizations with a youth focus that are 80 percent owned by young people (under 30 years old is the adopted definition of youth).
- Strong drive to use grassroots activism to affect change or have an impact on the community.

- requesting funding to launch new programs or assist those that already exist.
- Environment and socioeconomic effects of the project or program are clearly stated.
- An explanation of how and why the award will be valuable in enhancing the project’s value and effect.
- Project shows evidence of careful planning, including a well-developed strategy, timetable, budget, and team management.

- Function and Importance
- Recognize the target audience and how pertinent the project is to them.
- Find out how the project solves a problem that is not being sufficiently or currently handled.
- Financial Preparation
- Excellent financial awareness and understanding on how to make the project’s finances sustainable (with a clear budget/needs table).
- a thorough understanding of the team’s financial strategy for the project.
- Knowing the project’s potential long-term financial effects, if any.
- Team
- individuals with a strong sense of purpose and dedication.
- shows strong group dynamics and cohesion while having a clear awareness of the roles and responsibilities.
