About the Organization
All academic staff and students from ACU member universities who are actively pursuing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda are invited to participate in the Higher Education and the SDGs Network. The Network intends to support peer learning by exchanging knowledge and best practices, identifying opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, and discussing various strategies for how universities are interacting with the SDGs.
Regarding the Grant
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Challenge Grants, which will fund teamwork on the SDGs, are currently accepting applications.
The awards, which are available to professional and academic employees at ACU member universities, concentrate on the following key issues for ACU Higher Education and the SDGs Network:
- training and education
- Research
- Trusteeship and estates
- Partnerships with impact and participation
- The grants have been used to fund a wide variety of activities, projects, workshops, and events, from finding energy-saving and clean energy options for Fijian schools to supporting women’s economic empowerment by addressing financial literacy and gender-based disparities in access to finance.
Applications might propose concepts for:
Collaboration in education or professional practice, exchange or collaboration online. Higher education institutions (HEIs) can enhance contingency and continuity of operations planning by sharing and jointly developing training materials, tools, and methodologies.
- Comparative analyses, virtual fellowships, research management, and uptake capacity building
- incorporating sustainability into operations
- sharing SDG learning materials and information
- Creating research strategies with an eye toward the SDGs
- Co-creating research to achieve the objectives through partnerships, community involvement, and impact
What is covered by the grant
There are four grants of GBP 2,500 each.
How to Apply:
In order to apply, you must:
- Describe the project’s scope and timetable in detail, as well as how it will address the themes of the Higher Education and SDGs Network. A minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months are requested for the project time schedule.
- Send a letter of support from the executive head (or equivalent) of your university or another senior member of your organization to show support for the suggested program of work and the ways they will assist your project. The letter need to serve as a recommendation for the project lead as well.
