The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is dedicated to upholding its socioeconomic mandate by offering community recipients who plan to pursue academic studies at an accredited TVET College and/or HET Institution in South Africa training opportunities in the form of financial aid.

The scholarship is only available for degrees that require at least a year of full-time study. South African adolescents who live permanently in Johannesburg are eligible to apply for bursaries from the CoJ to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in the following technical and vocational study fields:
- Artisan Manufacturing
Construction - Plumbing
- Data Management
- Software Developer
- Electrical Sports
- Management Information
- Technology/Security
- Web Developer
- Computer Systems
- Network and System Administration
- Machining Welding
A selection criterion
Successful candidates will be chosen solely based on academic merit.
- Applicants must attend a South African higher institution that has been accredited.
- It is the student’s duty to apply for admission to a postsecondary institution.
- The bursary is only available for qualifications lasting at least a year.
The scholarship is not available for postgraduate degrees, and it is annually renewed based on academic performance.
Benefits
The Bursary is limited to R40,000.00 each academic year and covers tuition, registration fees, required books, and/or study materials.
