Deadline for applications: April 28, 2023, at 17:00 | BASA Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP4)
The Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP4) grant financing is open to registered small and micro businesses in the cultural and creative industries, according to Business and Arts South Africa NPC (BASA).
With an emphasis on shared value, the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP4) intends to open up opportunities in the creative and cultural industries. The President and the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture (DSAC) are responsible for it. With the establishment of more than 550,000 jobs and livelihood chances, in addition to more that are still being implemented, PESP has shown the government’s ability to boost public employment and other types of publicly backed support. BASA’s participation in the PESP4 implementation is centered on making sure that the jobs created give participants real-world work experience that will help them on their paths into a larger labor market and prepare them to be “work-ready” when the recovery of the economy offers opportunities that are more long-term.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Projects carried out within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) by registered South African small and micro companies (SMEs, i.e. with up to 50 full-time employees and an annual turnover of little more than R15 million).
- Women’s, young people’s, and people with disabilities’ projects will be given particular consideration.

- Programs that expressly target specific demographics (women, young adults, and people with impairments) and produce jobs will be given more consideration.
