The Standard Chartered Women in Technology Incubator – Kenya 2023 is currently accepting applications. The leading incubator program for female-founded enterprises in Africa is the Standard Chartered Women in Technology Incubator Kenya, which supports calls for greater diversity in technology, entrepreneurship, and the availability of chances for women to flourish in leadership and entrepreneurship. The program is a Standard Chartered effort in collaboration with Strathmore University’s @iBizAfrica Centre.

The program offers a comprehensive startup incubation program with a focus on immersive learning, mentorship & coaching, seed financing, and business to business connections for high potential startups tackling the continent’s most pressing problems. It combines world-class startup support with local and international experience.

Eligibility

  • The company must be headquartered in Kenya, operating there, and serving Kenyans’ needs.
  • The business must be technologically advanced and/or rely on cutting-edge technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, robotics, augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, and 4D printing, as well as cloud computing, big data, blockchain, drone technology, and biometrics.
  • A woman must have held an equal or majority ownership in the company’s founding or cofounding.
  • The originator or co-founder must be a Kenyan citizen over the age of 18.
  • The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sustainability must be clearly emphasized in business strategies.
  • operating for 3 months to less than 2 years.
  • seeking assistance in developing a proof-of-concept, customer, product, and business strategy.
  • Pre-revenue with substantial user traction.
  • An additional benefit of developing a new business module is post revenue.

Application

The Women in Tech Virtual Incubation Program must be completed successfully. If a physical meeting is required, COVID-19 health standards mandated by the government MUST be followed.
