Graduates of the member states of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO). Are invited to apply for the Young Professionals Programme (YPP). A two-year program, at the ARIPO headquarters in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The YPP is a well-organized, one-of-a-kind program for on-the-job learning. And development that aims to develop high-potential young professionals from a variety of academic backgrounds. In the technical aspects of intellectual property (IP), as well as in leadership and administrative roles. And to equip them with the skills they need to support Africa’s socioeconomic development.

Requirements
- Botany, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Economics, and Statistics are first degrees that were earned no more than five years prior to the application date.
- Skills in preparation and problem-solving interpersonal and communication abilities autonomous working skills.
- Innovation and creativity
- high level of digital literacy
- age at the time of application not to exceed 28.
- Nationals of the following countries are only eligible for this opportunity: Botswana, Cape Verde, Kingdom of Eswatini, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Kingdom of Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
Remuneration:
- a monthly salary of US$2,500;
- a one-time relocation grant, upon appointment, equal to one month’s stipend;
- free travel (to the host country), upon appointment;
- and (to the home country), upon program completion;
- Medical Assistance (80% employer, 20% participant);
- Annual, Sick, and Compassionate Leave;
- Group Life, Death, and Accident Insurance;
- and a one-time repatriation grant upon program completion in an amount equating to one month’s pay.
- a physical examination
- The appointment is contingent upon passing the required United Nations standard physical examination, which will be performed by a doctor nominated by ARIPO.
