Africa No Filter’s latest media funding will only support female storytellers.(Africa No Filter Women Storytellers media Grant 2022)
In the media, women’s voices are still underrepresented. To assist close this gap, Africa No Filter’s latest Media Grants are targeted solely at female storytellers and women-owned media organizations and channels.
This grant opportunity aims to enhance the number of African female storytellers and content makers, as well as provide a platform for perspectives that have been historically misunderstood and underrepresented on the continent.
Project Support grants of up to $10,000 are available to journalists, bloggers, vloggers, content creators, and podcasters, while Operational Support and Capacity-Building grants of up to $25,000 are available to organizations courtesy of Africa No Filter Women Storytellers media Grant 2022.
All applicants should have a track record of developing work that uses inventive, creative, and compelling storytelling to challenge stereotypical African narratives. They should also take part in at least one of the following activities:
Female journalists or content creators are being trained and their capacity is being built.
Increasing the continent’s creativity and innovation
Creating new narratives about and within the continent by disrupting and addressing harmful and stereotyped stereotypes.
Data-driven insights and analysis are being used to shed light on the continent’s transitions.
Using pop culture as a vehicle for effective storytelling
Organizational Eligibility

Have been in business for more than a year
Have worked with African female storytellers and content makers in the past?
The proposed initiative should aim to increase the number of narratives and stories that reflect a more diverse and vibrant continent.

A woman from Africa, either on the continent or in the Diaspora, must apply.
