The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture invites purposes for bursaries from tertiary college students from Undergraduates and Postgraduates from establishments accredited and registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training who want to pursue research in heritage associated programmes.
Fields of Study embody:
- Physical and Biological Anthropology
- Archaeology (Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage Archaeology)
- Geography and Geomatic sciences and ideally Postgraduates specialising in Cartography and GIS
- Archives and Records administration
- Library and Information sciences
- Conservation of the constructed surroundings together with preventive conservation (Postgrads specialising in Conservation)
- Heritage and Museum research: Management, Curatorship and Preservation
- Palaeontology
- Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) or Courses that contribute to the preservation and promotion of Indigenous Knowledge Systems
- History
- Digitisation of heritage assets
Scholarship
- The most worth of the bursary is R110,000 per scholar.
- Study charges: The whole quantity of study charges will probably be coated.
- Books: The whole quantity of prescribed books will probably be coated.
- Electronic units not costing greater than R10,000.
- Accommodation: R50,000 most quantity (NB the place relevant)

Eligibility
- South African citizenship.
- Not older than forty (40) years.

- Field of study have to be heritage associated.
- Not employed full time by authorities, state businesses or non-public sector with an (annual gross wage of not exceeding R130 000 (every year / or annual wage not exceeding R130 000). If Employed – submit licensed proof of earnings
- Applicants have to be full time college students
- Students which can be beneficiaries of different bursaries and donors won’t qualify to obtain the bursary.
Application
